  5. Ahh Grasshopper, when you can grab the
  6. coin from my hand, you will be a master.
  7. Okay, so if you ever saw the old
  8. Kung-fu TV show, you know that
  9. Grasshopper had to grab grains of rice.
  10. Why nit-pick, this is still pretty good
  11. stuff.

  13. Have your victim hold a quarter in the
  14. palm of their hand.  Hold your hand
  15. about eight inches above theirs and tell
  16. them that you can grab the quarter
  17. before they can close their hand.  Offer
  18. to let them try first if they want.  It
  19. may sound easy enough, but it is next to
  20. impossible if tried legitimately.
  21. Fortunately, you don't have to worry
  22. about such handicaps.

  24. Here's how you do it: Cup your hand,
  25. palm downwards, about eight inches or so
  26. above theirs.  Instead of grabbing the
  27. coin, sharply strike their hand with
  28. yours.  This will make the quarter
  29. bounce up into your hand.  Don't be too
  30. overt about it, you want it to seem like
  31. a natural part of just grabbing the
  32. coin.  Some people will think that the
  33. coin is still in their fist.  If you
  34. want to make this a little more
  35. dramatic, ask them if they still have
  36. the coin before you open your hand to
  37. reveal your plunder.  Stress how speed
  38. is important and how you have practiced
  39. for years.  It can be very impressive if
  40. set up right.  This is one that you will
  41. want to practice a bit first, but once
  42. you learn it, even when they see how you
  43. did it, you can still beat them.
